What We Believe
- We believe the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are the verbally inspired Word of God, written by holy men who were led of the Holy Spirit; and these Scriptures are the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. 2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Timothy 3:15-17
- We believe in one God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 3:16,17; John 14:26, 15:26
- We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin, Mary, and is therefore truly God and truly man. Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:28-35
- We believe in the Holy Spirit, who convinces the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, and leads them to repentance; and who, indwelling all believers, is ever present to minister the Word of God, and to sanctify and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ. John 16:7-11, 13; John 14:17, 26
- We believe man was created in the image of God; but, by Adam’s sin, physical and spiritual death passed to all mankind, and that all are born with a sinful nature. Mankind can only be delivered from this nature of death as the Holy Spirit imparts a new nature from above. Genesis 1:26, 27; Romans 5:17-19; John 3:3
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for the sins of all mankind, and that only those who repent of their sin, confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in their hearts that God has raised Him from the dead are fully justified before God. Isaiah 53:4-6, 11; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 10:9; Luke 12:8, 9 Mark 1:15
- We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ; that He ascended into heaven where He is seated on the right hand of God, the Father, as the believer’s Advocate. 1 John 2:1; Revelation 1:7; Acts 1:9; Luke 24:36-40; 1 Timothy 2:5
- We believe in the bodily resurrection of all mankind, the saved being raised to eternal joy in the presence of the Lord Jesus and the unsaved to eternal damnation in Hell. Job 19:25-27; John 5:28, 29; 1 Corinthians 15:22
- We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, of which He is the Head, and is composed of all believers in Him whose names are recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life. The local church is the organized assembly of believers who gather together for worship, study, prayer, and fellowship. The mission of the church is to evangelize the unsaved and to teach and edify the saved. Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Peter 3:18; Ephesians 5:21; Hebrews 12:23
We believe that the local church is committed to observe the ordinances of baptism of believers by immersion and the Lord’s Supper until He comes. 1 Corinthians 11:23-29 We believe that the souls of those trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation do at death pass immediately into His presence, and that the souls of the unsaved remain after death in torment awaiting final judgment of the Great White Throne. 1 Thessalonians 4:14; 2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23; Luke 16:19-31; Revelation 20:4-14 - We believe in the imminent, personal, pre-tribulation, premillennial return of Christ to receive the saints, and His later coming to set up his millennial kingdom upon the earth wherein dwells righteousness. Isaiah 11:6-9; Matthew 24:27, 31; Revelation 1:7; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Titus 2:13; Acts 1:11; 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 20:6
- We believe in the reality and personality of Satan, who, in pride, rebelled against God; and, subject to the authority of God, is able to carry out his evil devices as the god of this world, as the deceiver of mankind, and as the author of confusion. His final destiny is to be the lake of fire. Job 1; Isaiah 14:12-15; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 12:9; 20:10
- We believe that those who have truly been born again of the Spirit of God will be forever and eternally secured in Christ. John 5:24; 10:27-29; Romans 8:16, 35-39; 1 John 5:9-13
- We believe it is the responsibility of each Christian to uphold, support, and obey governmental authorities placed over him provided that the obedience demanded is not contrary to the expressed will of God. Daniel 4:17; Matthew 22:21; 1 Timothy 2:1, 2; Romans 13:1-7
- We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God's gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one's gender by surgery or appearance. Genesis 2:24; 19:5, 13; 26:8-9; Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:26-29; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:9; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4
16. We believe that the Scripture teaches us to love individuals as Christ loved the individual, however, our love for an individual does not mean we will condone or accept their sin or sinful lifestyle. John 3:16; 8:11; 13:34; 15:12;
1 John 4:11
